What is the Pro Show? Where are Desmond and Craig going?
CameraMall's co-founders, Desmond and Craig, will be in Scottsdale, Arizona for a few days next week attending the semi-annual PRO Show.
So...what exactly is a PRO Show?
Every year representatives from small camera stores all around the country (and Canada and Australia) attend the PRO Convention to share their experiences, trends they've recognized, and offer insight with other attendees to help make everyone's businesses better. In addition, it gives manufacturers (ie: Nikon, Olympus, Sony, Tamron, Fuji, etc.) the opportunity to meet with representatives from many camera stores at once, providing a great opportunity for hands-on product training and working together to generate more business.
We're intent on giving you, our customer, a better experience, which is why we're making the arduous trip out to Scottsdale, Arizona ;). If you're interested in following our experience at the convention, check us out on Facebook and Instagram!
What is the Photographic Research Organization (PRO)?
PRO is a member-owned cooperative comprised of small camera stores located across the United States, Canada, and Australia. Similar to agricultural cooperatives, which are formed to help individual farmers or growers; by banding together, the small camera stores are able to achieve a significantly greater purchasing power than on their own, allowing them to receive competitive pricing similar to businesses like Amazon, B&H, and Adorama. In addition, the cooperative is able to procure camera accessories and distribute those accessories to the camera stores across the country at prices lower than many distributors, enabling small camera stores to stay in business. However, the most valuable asset of the cooperative by far is the ability to learn from other camera stores in the co-op.
