Authorized Dealer Status

CameraMall is an authorized USA dealer for every brand we sell in-store and online.

What does it mean to be an authorized USA dealer?

Authorized USA dealers have the consent of the manufacturer to sell a product in the US market.

Why is it important to purchase equipment from an authorized USA dealer?

Grey Market Cameras & Lenses

The black market is the trade of illegal or stolen goods. The white market is the trade of legitimate goods. The grey market falls somewhere in between. Grey market products are products that were imported by anyone other than a manufacturer's authorized distributor. Because grey market products were intended for distribution in another market, they do not carry the manufacturer's warranty, may not contain genuine accessories, and are often not eligible for customer support or repair service. Because they are not regulated by the manufacturer, they are typically listed at a lower price than genuine USA product.

Warranty

Camera and lens manufacturers will only honor their product warranties when the product is purchased from an authorized dealer. They will not honor the warranty for grey market products.

Genuine Accessories

Because grey market products are not distributed by a manufacturer's authorized distributor, it's possible they could contain counterfeit or third-party accessories that can damage your camera or lens. Since they're intended for distribution in another market, they will often contain the wrong power cord or an adapter not designated for use in the USA.

Customer Support & Warranty Service

Some manufacturers will even completely refuse to help troubleshoot issues, service or repair products that were not purchased from an authorized USA dealer--one example is Nikon.

Warranties

Any camera or lens purchased in the new condition carries at least a one year manufacturer warranty, and used items carry a 60 day warranty provided by CameraMall. While new equipment warranties are between the end-purchaser and manufacturer, we are always happy to help you in completing repair or warranty paperwork and prepping your camera or lens for shipment to the manufacturer. The manufacturer will then correspond with you directly.

Manufacturer Warranty Information

Your camera or lens, when purchased as a new product, comes with at least a one year manufacturer warranty from the manufacturer, regardless of if you register the product of not. The manufacturer warranty covers manufacturing and workmanship defects--basically, anything the manufacturer did wrong in manufacturing the camera or lens is covered under their warranty.

  • Most brands carry a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
  • Sigma lenses carry a 4-year manufacturer warranty.
  • Nikon lenses carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty.
  • Tamron lenses carry a 6-year manufacturer warranty.

Panasonic cameras and lenses carry a 3-year warranty, if you register the product with the company promptly upon purchase. Click here to download the form.

Accidental Damage Warranties

Mack Worldwide Accidental Damage Warranties

If you're thinking about purchasing a camera from us, or if you’ve purchased your new camera or lens within the past 30 days, we offer accidental damage warranties by Mack Worldwide Warranty, which cover accidental damage like drops and water damage in addition to manufacturer defects. These warranties are sold for 2, 3 and 5 year coverage. The only limitations to these accidental damage warranties are that they do not cover theft, loss, or fire damage. Unlike most accidental damage warranties, these warranties require no deductible, meaning that if you ever damaged your camera or lens, the repair or replacement would come at no cost out of pocket to you with the accidental damage warranty. If you experienced a problem outside of the warranty coverage period (ie: you purchased a 2 year accidental damage coverage policy, and you had problems in year 3), you would need to send the lens directly to the manufacturer to have it repaired or serviced and would pay for any repairs out of pocket.

In addition to accidental damage, a mack warranty will provide two free sensor cleanings within the time of your coverage.

Canon CarePak Plus Accidental Damage Warranties

If you're thinking about purchasing a CANON camera from us, or if you’ve purchased your new CANON camera or lens within the past 90 days, we offer accidental damage warranties by CANON, which cover accidental damage like drops and water damage in addition to manufacturer defects. These warranties are sold for 2 and 3 year coverage.

In addition to accidental damage, CarePak Plus is transferable, will provide two free sensor cleanings within the time of the coverage, offers free two-way shipping on claims, and will facilitate free card recovery on damaged memory cards.

Used Gear Warranty

We provide a 60-day warranty on all of our used equipment. We also sell extended warranties on used cameras and lenses that give you protection for up to 3 years against manufacturer defects.
